City Kitties gets requests to help local strays every day, but the stray and feral population in Philadelphia is simply too large for one small organization to address.  We have a limited number of foster homes, and typically, they are all full.  With that in mind, we created this resource guide to assist community members who are concerned about stray/feral cats in their neighborhood.

So, you want to help that stray cat on your porch or in your backyard. Congratulations! You are on your way to making a big difference in an animal’s life. But we understand that panicky feeling you’ve got in the pit of your stomach. You are probably thinking, How much is this going to cost me? Will I find someone to adopt it? What kind of vet care does it need? We hope this resource guide will help answer some questions and give you the tools you need to find a happy new home for your stray.

What you do next depends on whether the cat is friendly or unsocialized (feral). Sometimes a friendly cat might just be shy, so take some time to get to know your stray if you can.
