Hannah was a semi-feral kitten found in Northwest Philly with her three brothers. When she first came to City Kitties, Hannah was terrified of people and spent much of her days hiding. And after months of hard work from her foster mom, Hannah's quirky, mischievous personality emerged. Whether eating baked potatoes, harassing her foster siblings, or chewing on brillo pads, Hannah was always up to no good! Her adoptive moms didn't mind though, and were happy to find a playmate for their recently adopted kitty, Aiden. We're so glad Hannah found just the right family to appreciate her! Cap'n Agnes was found in a backyard, dragging her injured front leg behind her and mewing for attention. Luckily, someone listened and brought her to City Kitties. With some love, time to heal, and lots of food, she made a miraculous recovery. When we first saw Agnes, we thought we would have to amputate her leg, but she regained full use of it. Soon after, she contracted toxoplasmosis and lost control of her back legs. She recovered from this, too, proving herself to be a tough little kitten! After so many medical problems and spending so much time caring for Agnes, we decided to make her a permanent part of our home. Agnes now shares her home with a herd of cats, two happy pit bulls, and a bunch of fish. She never misses a chance to eat everything in sight. Photo by Kyle Cassidy.
Indy was brought to City Kitties by a local rescuer. This big orange guy was such an unflappable explorer that his foster mom named him after Indiana Jones. It wasn't long before Indy was snapped up by his new mom and nearly identical new brother, Dexter! These boys look like, and think alike too. They got along right from the start, and Dexter has helped Indy explore every nook and cranny of his new home.
Moon was eight years old with plenty of love left to give when her family decided they didn't want her anymore. This tiny girl was signed over to a local vet office, scared and confused. Luckily, City Kitties knew we could find her a new home straight away. The fact that Moon is missing her tail and has stumpy little legs just adds to her charming nature! She was soon adopted by a social worker and her lovable kitty, Dee. This is sure to be a happy new Moon phase!
James and his perky sidekick, Roswell, marched right up to a rescuer in Northwest Philly and begged to be taken home. This friendly pair had been kicked out of a nearby home, and the irresponsible owner refused to care for them anymore. James and Roz were the best of friends and soon moved to a foster home together, where they charmed the socks off their foster parents. Before long, it became obvious that the two cats were considered more than just fosters and were sticking around for good! City Kitties was sad to see a wonderful foster home go, but we know James and Roswell have a very special forever home together and will never find themselves left out in the cold again.
Phinneas and Alfred were found in the trashcans behind a West Philadelphia apartment building. Someone had literally thrown these handsome kittens away like yesterday's news, but two kind souls heard them mewing for help and rescued them. Both boys lost their right eyes due to infection, but they healed quickly. These adorable twins found a wonderful new home with their mom in Manayunk, and even she has trouble telling them apart!
Miss Bea was found by a kindhearted rescuer in Germantown. Someone had kicked her to the curb, and she was unfortunately pregnant. But thanks to her foster mom, Miss Bea was able to have her kittens inside with all the right vet care. Born around Easter time, Egg, Bunny, and Peep were quickly adopted. But for reasons we'll never understand, no one seemed interested in this gorgeous calico with a spunky personality. Finally the right family came along and knew Miss Bea was the one for them. She made the trip across the river to New Jersey to her new home. Good luck, Bea!
Millie was left at a nearby park. Formerly a house cat, she was frightened and withdrawn. Before you could sit down for tea and crumpets, a luv'ly expat couple was smitten with her subtle charms. Now she's happily serving as an artist's muse and busy learning the Queen's English in her new "flat."
