Wesley appeared in our third-story window asking to be let in. None of the neighbors claimed him, so he became the latest resident at City Kitties "headquarters." Wesley settled right in like he owned the place. This dashing daredevil enjoyed banister-hopping like a trapeze artist, terrorizing betta fish, and showing his soft side by kneading humans with his enormous paws. We loved fostering Wesley and will miss him, but we know he's in a good place! Now named Gomez, he was adopted with his new sister Linda (see story below).
Linda (now Lily) was found in a local garden sleeping in a flower pot. Too sweet to be left outside, her rescuers brought this beautiful silver tabby in and fixed her up. Soon after, she was adopted by her new dad. So far, Lily and her new brother, Gomez, are getting along well in their happy home. They make a very attractive pair of tabbies!
Abraham was a South Philly stray who stumbled upon just the right person. His rescuer brought him inside and gave him food, love, and all the vet care he needed. A happy-go-lucky boy, he purred even while recovering from a nasty upper respiratory infection. It took a few months, but Abraham found a new home, shared with a small dog and some loving humans.
Butter was found on Grays Ferry Ave with a BB in his leg. This guy was filthy, neglected, and nearly starved to death. He was so sick, we didn't think he would survive. Butter was finally diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and put on medication to treat it. He lived at the vet's office for a month while he got his strength back, then moved to "City Kitties headquarters" and continued with his miraculous recovery. A lot of people thought about adopting Butter, but the perfect home didn't come along for a while. Finally, Butter's new dad took him home and decided he was just the right match. We'll miss you, Butter!
