City Kitties is FULL, and here’s how you can help! - July 26, 2013

Mid-summer note: City Kitties is *still* full, and in need of foster homes to help us bring in cats from our waitlist.

Now that it is official spring, City Kitties is experiencing a surge of requests for support with cats and kittens. Unfortunately, City Kitties is completely full, and we have a wait list that is several months long. We are unable to accept new requests to take on new cats or kittens at this time, and will not be able to take on any new kitties until some of our current kitties have found their forever homes.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Adopt from City Kitties or other rescues, and encourage your friends and families to do the same. Every cat adopted frees up a foster space for another kitty in need.
  • Consider fostering for City Kitties or another local rescue. Fostering literally saves lives!
  • Take efforts to spay and neuter any cats that are outdoors — it can safely be assumed any female cat that is outside and un-spayed is pregnant, and will have 2-3 litters of kittens in the next few months. By spaying even one cat, you can prevent dozens of homeless kittens from being born this season (which in turn prevents hundreds from being born next season!)
  • Help spread the word about City Kitties, and encourage folks to adopt from us (or your local rescue!)
